Carole Curb Nemoy’s life in the entertainment industry has been diversely rewarding. During her career she has earned success in the record and film industries as President of both Curb Records International and Curb Entertainment International.


Carole graduated from UCLA Phi Beta Kappa summa cum laude with a major in French and a minor in Spanish. She spent her Junior year in Bordeaux, France at the University of Bordeaux studying political science, and French literature. She was then several years in Los Angeles as a record executive alongside her brother, Mike Curb, the Chairman of Curb Records, where they had hits with the Osmond’s, Debby Boone, Shaun Cassidy, and Sammy Davis Jr among others. Carole moved to Paris in 1982 to oversee Curb’s international record division where she had successes with Real Life’s “Send Me An Angel”, the Bellamy Brothers’ “Let Your Love Flow”, and the Judd’s. Curb Records continued with artists like LeAnn Rimes and Tim McGraw. They have had many successful soundtracks over the years including Coyote Ugly.


Before living in Paris, Carole spent a brief time away from her entertainment business to work in politics. She was involved in helping President Reagan’s election campaign recruiting celebrities to appear at various functions on his behalf. She was appointed by President Reagan to the board of the USO. She then helped her brother, Mike Curb, in his successful bid for Lieutenant Governor of California. During this time she served on the Commission of the Californias which dealt with California’s relationship with Baja California.


In 1988 Carole moved back to Los Angeles to assume her current position as President and Co-founder of Curb Entertainment International, an independent film production and distribution company, in addition to her role of international record executive. Shortly after her arrival, the Curb organization executive produced SEX, LIES and VIDEOTAPE, winner of the Palme d’OR at the Cannes Film Festival. During Carole’s tenure, Curb Entertainment has become one of the most respected independent film companies in the world. She has produced over 20 films including OXYGEN with Adrien Brody and Maura Tierney, PIPE DREAM with Mary Louise Parker and Martin Donovan, WEDDING BELL BLUES with Paulina Porizkova and Illeana Douglas, FAMILY TREE with Robert Forster and Cliff Robertson, MEXICO CITY with Stacy Edwards and Robert Patrick, THE PROPOSAL with Jennifer Esposito, OUT OF LINE with Jennifer Beals, KILL ME LATER with Selma Blair, and the SyFy premiers DEVIL ON THE MOUNTAIN with Lance Henriksen, and WAR WOLVES with John Saxon and Tim Thomerson.


In addition, Carole has distributed internationally worldwide through Curb Entertainment such films as SUNDAY, Sundance Winner 1997, Henry Jaglom’s DÉJÀ VU with Vanessa Redgrave, JUST WRITE with Sherilyn Fenn and Jeremy Piven, LITTLE BOY BLUE with Ryan Phillippe, DON’T GO BREAKING MY HEART with Anthony Edwards, the Merchant Ivory Production MERCI DOCTEUR REY, and SPIN with Stanley Tucci. More recently Carole has acquired the distribution rights for OPEN WINDOW from Sundance Film Festival with Robin Tunney, Sybil Sheppard, and Elliott Gould, AFGHAN KNIGHTS with Michael Madsen, EL CORTEZ with Lou Diamond Phillips, ALL ROADS LEAD HOME with Peter Coyote and Peter Boyle, OVERNIGHT staring Rachel Blanchard, James D’Arcy, and Anthony LaPaglia, DEADLINE starring Eric Roberts which is based on a true story, TAKE ME HOME starring Sam Jaeger from NBC’s hit TV show ‘Parenthood’, and ONE SMALL HITCH which has proven to be an international success.

Curb acquired Word Entertainment where Carole began the association by distributing Word Films with movies including THE PERFECT SUMMER, THE TRAIL, and CAGED NO MORE. She also became involved in the music side of Word by promoting internationally the Word recording artists such as FOR KING AND COUNTRY. She continues to acquire films for Curb Entertainment with THE LOOKING GLASS and SHIFTING GEARS being two of the most recent. She also continues to license the Curb Entertainment catalogue consisting of more than 100 films by attending the film markets such as The American Film Market.  She still heads up Curb Records International  working with artists such as LEE BRICE and DYLAN SCOTT. She is helping rebuild internationally the pop division with recording artists JESSE KINCH, and ANDREAS MOSS among others.


Carole is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, and she serves on the board of Junior Achievement of Southern California. She was President of the Parent’s Club at Claremont McKenna College where the Curb family endowed the college with a professorship. She is a member of Blue Ribbon where she served twice on the board and headed up the Children’s Festival. She is also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Women in Film. Carole is married to Norman J. Nemoy, MD, partner of Tower Urology and attending surgeon at Cedar’s Sinai Medical Center. They are members of the Bel Air Bay Club and Hillcrest Country Club. Her daughter Caroline, who graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a degree in mathematics is an AVP working for Legg Mason Global Asset Management.
